Our wonderful KMPAA & PCCC students recently showcased their contemporary prowess in our 2022 Contemporary Gala, set to the Vivaldi classic, The Four Seasons.
Teaching our dancers to task and develop their composition skills is an essential aspect of our contemporary programs, both full-time and after school. The dancers began the development of this work with sessions of improvisation and tasking to generate new movement pathways that resulted in each dancer developing their base phrase. The phrases were then layered and manipulated throughout the piece in conjunction with the choreographer’s movement style.
The end result was a high energy and passionate piece, each dancer showcasing their courage, professionalism and commitment to their own work as well as that of the group. We could not be more proud of you all!
